Saint Anthony

There are two Saint Anthonys venerated by the Catholic church. One is Saint Anthony of Padua (Padova in Italian) and the other is Saint Anthony of Eqypt. The images on this page are of Saint Anthony of Padua.

Saint Anthony of Padua was born in Lisbon to a wealthy family but against their wishes joined the Augustinian Abbey and later the Franciscan order. He preached in Northern Italy and Southern France and was buried in Padua. His feast day is June 13th.
