Saint Jude
Saint Jude is one of the patron saints of lost causes. One of the 12 apostles, Jude is also
known as Thaddeus, although there is some confusion as to whether Thaddeus was another follower of Christ and
not the same person. Saint Jude received the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, then preached throughout the Eastern
Mediterranean until he was martyred in Syria in 65AD.
Saint Jude, along with Saint Bartholemew, is a patron saint of the Armenian Apostolic Church. His feast day is
celebrated on October 28th (or June 19th in the Eastern Orthodox Church.
